Terms of Service
In short: you can use BillKit for free to create documents for your business. You are responsible for what you put on your invoices. Pro is a paid license sold through Lemon Squeezy, with a 14-day money-back guarantee.
Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of BillKit at billkit.app (the "Service"), operated by an independent developer based in Taiwan ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of a business, you agree on its behalf. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
The Service
BillKit lets you create invoices, quotes and receipts and download them as PDF files. The generator runs in your web browser and your documents are stored only on your device, as described in our Privacy Policy. The free plan requires no account.
We may add, change or remove features over time. We aim to keep the core generator free.
Some pages contain labeled affiliate links to third-party services; we may earn a commission if you sign up, at no extra cost to you. Third-party services are governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
Your responsibilities
- You are solely responsible for the content and accuracy of the documents you create, including tax rates, tax IDs, amounts and any information legally required on invoices in your country.
- Templates, guides and country information on BillKit are provided for general information only and are not legal, tax or accounting advice. Rules change; check with your local tax authority or a qualified advisor.
- You must not use the Service to create fraudulent, misleading or illegal documents, to impersonate others, or to infringe anyone's rights.
- You must not attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer for the purpose of circumventing licensing, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its license system.
BillKit Pro
BillKit Pro is an optional paid upgrade offered as a monthly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. Current prices and features are listed on our pricing page.
- License. When you buy Pro you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license key. One license may be activated on up to 3 devices or browsers used by the same person or business. Do not share or resell license keys.
- Monthly plan. Renews automatically each month until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; Pro remains active until the end of the paid period and you will not be charged again.
- Lifetime plan. A single payment that grants Pro, including future Pro features, for as long as we operate the Service, with no renewal fees.
- Price changes. We may change prices for new purchases. For an active monthly subscription we will notify you in advance of any price change, and you can cancel before it applies.
Payments, taxes and refunds
Orders are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record and authorized reseller. Lemon Squeezy's terms apply to the purchase itself, and Lemon Squeezy calculates and collects applicable sales tax, VAT or GST. Prices are shown in US dollars.
Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy, which includes a 14-day money-back guarantee. A refunded or charged-back license is disabled.
Intellectual property
The Service, its code, design, templates and content belong to us or our licensors. You may use the templates to create your own business documents. The documents you create, and the content you put in them, belong to you — we claim no rights in them.
Availability and data loss
We work to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Because your documents are stored only in your browser, they can be lost if you clear your browser data, change devices or your device fails. Keep copies of the PDFs you send and export your history regularly.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded by law.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for Pro in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50 if you have not paid anything. This does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud or gross negligence.
Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or disable a license that is shared, resold, obtained fraudulently or used in breach of these Terms. If we ever discontinue the Service or Pro, we will give reasonable advance notice and the generator will keep working with the data stored in your browser for as long as technically possible.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan (Republic of China), and the Taiwan Taipei District Court has non-exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection laws and courts of the country where you live.
Changes
We may update these Terms. We will update the "last updated" date above, and for material changes we will give notice on the site. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
